Description

Sexually transmitted diseases, more commonly referred to as STDs, are commonplace in society, especially for those ages 15-24. According to the American Sexual Health Association, one in two sexually active people will contract an STD by the time they turn 25. Thanks to our online doctor service here at MahaDoc, getting tested and treated for an STD is extremely easy!

We treat the following STDs:

Chlamydia
A bacteria called Chlamydia trachomatis causes this particular STD to develop, and it can infect both men and women. Women may get this STD in the cervix, rectum or throat, and men may get it in the urethra, rectum or throat. Chlamydia is more common in young people, especially women, and it doesn’t typically cause any symptoms.

Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea is another common STD that can infect the genital tract and other areas of the body. It most often affects the urethra, rectum or throat. Like chlamydia, gonorrhea also may not cause any symptoms. Symptoms include painful urination, pus-like discharge from the top of the penis, painful intercourse, vaginal bleeding between periods, increased vaginal discharge and abdominal/pelvic pain.

Trichomonas
Trichomonas is a very common STD caused by an infection with a protozoan parasite called Trichomonas vaginalis. Symptoms include itching or burning inside of the penis, discomfort when urinating, and discharge from the vagina or penis.

Herpes
Herpes is caused by herpes simplex virus, and it is a long-term condition. It may not be clear to someone if they are carrying herpes, because symptoms can be minimal. Symptoms include pain, itching, vaginal discharge, high fever, swollen lymph nodes, red blisters on the skin, or cold sores around the mouth.
